New paragraph
Limiting Beliefs are the things that we believe not only about the world around us but about ourselves and all too often we accept them as fact. We’ve believed them for so long that they seem like unshakeable truisms. They have become part of the filter that we view our world through.
One of my favourite examples of a limiting belief is manifested by Lt. Dan Taylor from the movie Forest Gump. He is tough, brave and cares deeply about his men but is convinced that he is supposed to die on the field with honour like the montage of his unfortunate ancestors who've been killed in every war America has fought.
THIS is who he believes himself to be and while it seems noble and heroic it is in fact a tremendously limiting and it’s only after Forest saves him that he discovers his true purpose.
We're going to look at how they manifest and how they impact on our lives.
Then we're going to look at how to hunt them down and overcome them.
But it all starts with imagining what our lives would be like without them, both for orselves and the people around us.
You coming?
